Take a deep dive into a somatic-based movement practice over this retreat weekend,

located in the heart of the New River Gorge National Park.

Check in Thursday, November 10 at Opossum Creek Retreat to get your manual, and meet the group. The following 3 full days, from Friday Nov 11- Sunday Nov 13 will allow for ample time to learn somatic movement in therapeutic applications, as well as learning how to incorporate short sequences into your home practice and classes. Sunday we will explore the area as a group with a guided hike and mediation in the woods (weather permitting).

Monday is check out.

I have formulated this retreat to be set up for those wanting to just practice, and have ample free time for themselves, or as a deep dive for teachers to both fill their well and learn new techniques and movements. Each day will have two practices as well as two teaching sessions where we will go over movements and discuss neurophysiology, kinesiology, anatomy and philosophy. Every single session is optional, and if you are a teacher who wants to earn continuing education credits, you will have the opportunity to earn a total of 18 credits if you attend all sessions. As a teacher you will have an opportunity to practice guiding your peers through the movements.

Our location will be at The Meadows at Opossum Creek Retreat, a beautiful and secluded space. 13 beds are available in the main house, as well as private cabins on site that can be shared with a friend. Each cabin, including the Meadows, has a hot tub and kitchen. Two vegan, Ayurvedic inspired meals will be provided for all attendees daily (lunch and dinner).  Fresh fruit, granola and yogurt will be set out each morning.
